Hey guys!
So, remember last time I mentioned that the next time I'd update, I'd probably have a laptop? Well, I have one! Meet Lappy, my lappy. Creative, no? She makes me happy with her high speed interwebs, bubbles, and purple ness... Yay!
Anyway, news time. Finished Little Shop of Horrors a little over a week ago. Sad face. It's amazing that in the less than two weeks that we actually worked on it, it came out really well! I miss it so much. Did I ever mention that that was my first full scale musical? I mean, sure, I've done musicals before, but never to this extent! But yea, playing Audrey was fantastic. You can actually listen to a song, here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ_QV5… This was performed, as the description says, the night before we officially "opened." So, it wasn't as great quality as it was when performed during the show. In fact, we didn't even do a complete run through of the show until the next morning! It was CRAZY! Opening night was absolutly ridiculous. No joke. Our "technical producer" or whatever fucked up SO BADLY! For instance, when I went on to sing one of my last songs, he starts playing music, and it is DEFINITLY NOT THE RIGHT MUSIC. I was on stage for close to 5 minutes trying to save my dignity and make a monologue for myself until he corrected himself... Dear god. And that's not all he messed up, either. He'd play the wrong song at times, not turn on microphones... Let's just say it wasn't fantastic. I did mess up a couple of my entrances a couple of times, though, so he's not entirely at fault. Although, I like to say that he is... heh. But it was really fun. In the video link there, the whole thing isn't fantastic. In our actual performances, I actually sang in Audrey's voice... But whatever. It sounds fine. I guess... At least my Seymour was cute. Hehe. And at least after opening night our "connection" had more chemistry... It's not great in that performance. But, enjoy anyway!
Haha, the kids that were in the camp that we performed this in kept asking if we really kissed. It was hilarious!
What else is new... I got my roomie for next year! Her name's Olivia, and she seems really nice. I think next year will be good and we'll get along well. If not, well, next year's gonna suck.
I think that's it for now. My brother and dad are in NYC for the week, so I get to enjoy the cottage basically to myself! Lappy exploration time, here I come!
Peace and love,
Cat

Oh... Hey...
WELL it's been over a year since I updated this thing. Huh... Here's a brief overview of what's happened to me (in a mostly chronological order) since then!
- officially moved to Fredericton, NB
- got a boyfriend
- worked with an outdoor summer theatre company
- started my 2nd year at MtA
- originated a role in an original musical theatre production at MtA and got runner up for an award
- played the Cat in the Hat in a production of Seussical
- rekindled a friendship with a very good friend of mine
- played Constance Ledbelly in a production of Goodnight, Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)
- went to Vancouver
- worked as a Summer Readi
THE WAIT IS OVAR!
Alright, alright, I know. It's been almost 4 months since I've updated my journal. So sue me, I'm a busy student.
The 25th Annual Spelling Bee was a SUCCESS!!! I don't think I've had that much fun with a show for a very, very long time. The cast was phenomenal, and I love them all so, so much. The show ran for 4 nights, and we gave 5 awesome performances. In fact, 3 of those performances we needed to put out extra chairs. Oh, and did I mention the show has audience participation? IN FACT my mom was one of the audience participants "participating" in the spelling bee, and the two "adult supervisors" gave her the most embarrassing facts ever.
